When is the right time for TT???
I just scheduled my tummy tuck yesterday. I am 22 pounds from goal and still losing quickly. We are in the process of a loan mod and therefore had to have the credit billed out ASAP so we paid for it all now. I weigh 172 how my goal weight is 150 and the doc says he can do it at 160 (within 10 pounds of goal) He says it will not make a difference in results within 10 pounds. He also wants to do back and flank lipo, is this the norm?I know i had fat deposits there before I was even overweight (at 140)
I am sooo ready to get this done as I have a big ole flap over and its making fitting into pants really hard as I get smaller. I am in a loose 11 now and its just insane squishing it into my jeans! I picked the date of July 11th. I have been losing about 13 pounds a month and thought this would give me adequate time to lose the 12 pounds i need to and perhaps even more. I am just hoping people who have been though this have some insight into the time line.
Thanks guys

I waited over 7 years, but I had a second child in that time period. And I wasn't sure if I wanted to do plastics.
During two consultations with two different doctors, I was asked how long my weight had been stable. Both docs looked for a stable weight for at least a year. Also, my PS did not do any lipo. He stated that if I intended to lose more weight, it could compromise the final result. Each doctor is so different, as is each patient and our bodies.
As with anything major, I'd recommend a second, maybe a third, consultation / opinion. I scheduled three total but when I met the second, I chose him.
Good luck to you!!!

I also was told not to have it done until your weight is stable for 6 months. Also, they don't like doing it until your 18-24 months out. I don't think your done losing, I started at your weight and my goal was 150, then 140 and now I am 136. I heard after 2 years out that is when the weight loss slows down and stops and it's up to you to keep working that tool to maintain your weight loss. I have 3 consultations also and they all asked how far out I was...so I would get a second opinion before you have it done...you might not like the results afterwards if you continue to lose more weight. Good Luck..let us know how you made out
I've lost weight every month (26 of them) since my RNY. My plastic surgeon wanted 100 pounds off for a year before he would do TT and Arm lift and Lower Body lift.
I think I'm pretty much done losing (it's just been .5 pounds a month the last 3 months).
If I were you - I would wait. I've read stories from others who rushed it, lost more weight and are saying they have to have more surgery because of the flapping skin. Some plastic surgeons won't do a 2nd TT as there isn't the infastructure to work with.
I'd definately get another opinion and wait until 18- 24 months out from WLS.

Personally I have never heard of any reputable plastic surgeon who would do plastic surgery for a patient only 6 months after bariatric surgery. I think you need to wait until your weight stabilizes, but it sounds like your mind is made up.
