6 day update

Well, I've made it almost a week now!  Tomorrow I go in for a post op check & hope to get at least one drain removed?  Boy............the drains are so cumbersome.  I feel pretty good, still resting alot.  My thighs hurt the most, which has suprised me.  It's not pain, but a very sore feeling on the inside where the incisions are, guess that's to be expected.  Still hard to get up out of bed by myself but manage getting up & down everywhere else.  Have to say I'm already surprised at how great everything looks even w/the swelling & drain tubes.  Although, the swelling hasn't been as bad as I had expected!  So proud all of this portion is behind me!

It only gets better from here.  While the drains are draining let them... don't be in too much of a rush to remove them.  It's harder for the body to expel the liquid, w/o the drains.  At least it was for me.  When some of them come out, it's a sweet deal.  Don't over do.  Did you bump up your protein intake?  I think it really helped me.  I went through several containers of my eggwhite protein shakes.  I was trying for 200g a day.

Thanks Chris.  Will see today what he says.  Still am very surprised that I'm not more swollen, I really expected it to be bad & I have hardly any, just a little in the Mons area where the drains are coming our of.  No, I really haven't been that good w/the protein, I just haven't had ANY appetitie whatesoever.  Looking forward to feeling like getting out & shopping around again soon, but will have to take it easy for now.  I'm scheduled to go back to work next Thursday, we'll see.....not to sure right now about that!  Would have to work 2 days then will be back off for 3 & it is a desk job.  Will just have to see what the next full week brings!  Thanks for alll the support!

Egg white protein?  Never heard of it.  Where do you get it?  How do you fix it?

 Hi there,
We had our plastics on the same day.  I had a LBL, brachio, BA/BL.  Seems we're at the same point, too.  I had 4 drains and 2 were removed yesterday, which was great.  I cant wait to lose the others.  Hope every day is getting better for you, too!

I'm back working from home now so have less time here on the forums, but if you want to chat about recovery just PM me!

Take care,
Joanne

thanks Joanne,
I am feeling lots better today, still have all 4 drains tho.  He'll check me again on monday & said at least 2 would come out, but I may have to go home w/the other 2.  Although yesterday their output was alot less, so I'll keep hoping!  I'm trying to go w/tylenol only today, the pain is really pain, it's more like just soreness.  So I'll see how it goes.  The pain meds just make me so sleepy.  Hope your feeling better to!
