Did your surgeon charge Xtra for the Anchor or was it already included in the first price quoted..?

Just trying to get a feel for what to expect when I see my surgeon in the next couple of wks.

I'm going to ask if HE THINKS I WOULD DO BETTER with an Anchor, but we have already set a price for the LBL without the Achor mentioned..I'm really hoping "IF" he thinks I would do better, it will not cost anymore...I'm paying out of pocket and I don't want to have to borrow any money...I've saved for my PS for two years and I have just enough for what has been quoted...

Keeping my fingers crossed that I want NEED the Anchor and I will get GREAT results..

Thanks again, EVERYONE..!!

I believe the anchor is a larger price -- more extensive surgery, longer anesthesia, etc.

I did not have the anchor -- none of the 4 PS' I consulted thought I needed it.  If your main issue is below the waist you probably don't need it.  I did have a small roll above the waist but he pulled the skin down nice and tight and gave me a cute new belly button.

Trust your surgeon and ask lots of questions!

Good luck!

THANK YOU, JUDITH...YOUR INFORMATION HELPS ME THINK THAT EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE FINE WITHOUT THE ANCHOR...

I really think my surgeon would have mentioned the Anchor, should he have thought I needed it, but I guess the nerves are making me ask more questions as it gets closer to the due date..

Thank you so much..!

Hi again. I am really not sure about cost as my insurance is covering all.
That is what they put in for and that is what got approved.

Touching on what others said...he did talk to me about the scar but I am 47 and will not be wearing a 2 pc bathing suit anyway.

I just want to look better in my clothes. This was his recommendation to me to acheive that.
He said I'll even have a waist!!
(My response was "a waist...what is that?)

I was already obese by first grade. I have never had a waist.

Anyway...keep on asking questions and let us know what he says.

And good luck to all of us on the next leg of our journey.

Even if I chose to wear a 2-piece it would have to be a modest '60's version 'cause my scar angles up and around my waist.  So a bikini would never cut it.  BUT there's absolutely no chance of me ever wearing a 2-piece in public, but it is fun to look at my slim mid-riff and flat tummy!

I had the anchor and probably didn't need it.  I think if he had pulled the skin down that would have been enough - but, with that said, I still love my waist/tummy!

I don't wear a bikini because of the vertical scar, and I had a revision to it in Nov and its STILL not healed - but that's me...

I wear a onekini - where it looks like a bikini from behind but has a strip of material up the middle that connects the top to the bottom - works for me!!!

I did have the anchor cut because I had fat and flab above and below my belly button.  He removed 8.5 pounds!!!  Also, with the anchor cut he tightened my ab muscles which were in terrible shape.  I had lower back pain for over 20 years and after the first week of having to walk like granny I have had 0 back pain - honestly - it's a miracle.  Taking that weight off the front and tightening the muscles took care of 23 years of constant back pain.  The 8200 I spent was worth every penny!!!
