6 days out and keep fainting

Hi - I had a tummy tuck and breast lift 6 days ago and spent 2 nights in hospital recovering before being discharged.  I'm fairly pain free just a little imobile and tired.

Apparently I lost quite a lot of blood during surgery and I had trouble walking for the first day or so as my blood pressure kept dropping and I fainted a few times, but this stablised and I was discharged ok.

Since I've been home - all seems to be well - except for yesterday.  I took off my compression garments and surgical stockings so that I could have a shower and then fainted 3 times in quick succession - frightening my husband as I not only fainted, but also had some mini spasms before coming around.  So I gave up on the shower, got my compression gear back on and feel ok again.

I'm on iron tabs, antibiotics, vit c and anti inflamatories  and getting in plenty of water as well as eating well - any other hints or suggestions to help please.

I'm seeing my surgeon tomorrow for a follow up and hope I don't faint again as it's so unpleasant.

PS - from what I could see before I fainted, the results look good !

It's not uncommon to faint or feel very woosy when you take the compression off in the early stages. I suggest to people that they sit on the bed and take the compression off then sit for a bit while the blood flow adjusts and your blood pressure has a chance to stabilize. I also suggest that you have someone with you for those first few showers to help you. Once in the shower it's best to have a stool or shower chair so you can sit down. Make sure you also get help getting in and out so you have a steady hand. It does gets better in time.

Heavens !  You are likely not able to maintain a normal blood pressure from blood loss. Please get a quick blood  count done if one was not done already. You can injure yourself in a fall, and blood loss can be a strain on your heart.  Simple problem but it has to at least be investigated.
