Did anyone use them? Whats your take on these verse creams? Are the result worth the price? I'm going to add this to the list of questions to ask my surgeon on the 11th. I've had several surgeries and all my scar results are totally different . Would only use on my arms no one would ever see my belly.

I use silicon. I used it the first time on a knee surgery where I was left with a 4-inch J-shaped scar on the back of my knee on the advice of my physical therapist back in 2005. Her comment was that it helped to keep the scar hydrated, which would help it heal faster and smoother.

Seemed to work to me.

My reconstructive surgeons recommended silicon after my surgeries with them as well for the same reason. I can't say if the silicon is the only cause, but I do know that my scars are healing and smoothing out faster than expected, so I'm going to continue to use it.

I used them with tape overtop for about 2 months and didn't really notice much difference.  My surgeon now wants me to wear them with compression - he just ordered me a custom pair.  My scars are parially keloid...one is particularly bad...so I'm hoping it fixes it up!

The ones I'm getting are like the custom compression garments that burn victims get for their scars.  Our provincial health care plan paided for 75% of the cost - and I'm hoping my work insurance pays for the other $115.

I'm going to be wearing them to reduce the scar - and if it doesn't work, or doesn't completely work, he is going to do a scar revision in the fall.  And then I'll have the compression garments to wear afterward as well.

A far cry from those darned wraps I had to wear....
