What did you wear after your arm lift?
The bottom half (elbow to about 2" below the base of my armpit) have gone keloid/hypertrophic. Just the way I heal - compounded by the stress that is put on arms as it heals. I have used silicone, but didn't notice much difference. I'm about 6.5 months out. The other half of my scar (under the armpits) is great - white, flat and almost invisible.
My surgeon has ordered me custom compression sleeves to add to the silicone sheets, and will also do a revision with whatever is left in the fall. After my revision, he is planning on being much more aggressive treating the scar since I tend to keloid. He will also use a different suture material as he thinks an allergy/sensitivity might be part of this.
Now - would I do it differently? Obviously, as summer approaches - I wish all of my scar was like the under armpit part. My red, raised keloid scars are very visible in short sleeve shirts. I still sometimes avoid wearing short sleeves because of it. But I'm kind of getting over that as it gets warmer.
My thoughts are - if my scars never got any better than this (and I'm confident they will), I still wouldn't regret doing this. My tops fit properly now - I don't have to buy a bigger size shirt to fit my arms. And, really, even with those scars, my arms look better than they did before. Before, there was NO hidding the crepe paper look, the flappy skin, etc. in short sleeves. Now, the scar is against my body. In normal activities, my scar doesn't show. When I lift my arms, or sit at a table with my elbows resting (which I probably shouldn't do anyway) or drive in a car, it shows...but not otherwise. I wore a gorgeous, sleeveless dress to a wedding recently with no worries.
Sorry - that was long winded - but I've thought a lot about this one...

I wore the garments that the doctor gave me. He got them from Design Veronique. For my arms, I purchased them from www.marenagroup.com They are pricey, BUT worth every penny! The garments decreased my swelling and increased my comfort!
I'm having my second phase of ps on the same day as yours! We'll be surgery sisters!
I'm having a Breast aug/lift, TT with anchor cut and LBL with auto butt augmentation on the 24th of May and then on the 27th, I'm having a full face with neck and eyes included.
I just got approved for my FMLA of 12 weeks, but will return if I feel better sooner! last time I had my arms and TT in 2008, I returned to work at 8 weeks. I am an RN who works 12 hours and am on my feet the entire time.
