What did you wear after your arm lift?
I'm starting to get a little nervous my PS date is May 24,2011 I'm excited and both nervous. I wanted to know what some of you guys found most comfortable after a arm lift and a Tummy Tuck. I saw that CM had on maternity pants which is a great idea. Looking on clearance racks for those in mother hood. I plan on staying out of work for about 6weeks. I have a desk job so i think i will be ok after 6weeks.
We are having the same procedures on the same Day!!!
I was told I would have ACE wrap bandages on my arms and big button up the front shirts are easy to put on (like one of your husbands).
I will have an abdominal binder (I have one left over from after my RNY - so I will wind up with two). I was told to bring a soft tee shirt to wear under the binder for comfort - so I bought mens tees with no arms, kinda like a tank top.
I bought large PJ type elastic waist cotton bottoms - they are capri length (but I'm only 5ft 1 in so they come to my ankles). I bought 2 sizes larger than I normally wear to accomodate the binder, swelling, pain, etc.
I am thinking about getting a long sleeve support garmet for after the ACE bandages come off to compress my arms while they are healing.
Obviously, I'm pre op so looking forward to answers to your post. Good luck on your surgeries. Mine are scheduled at 7:30 am - I will say a prayer for you that morning.

I noticed that about our date and procedures! Didn't think about hubbies clothes. And I've seen the sleeveless Tees for $4 (Thanks). I've picked up several sleeves dresses but still pretty chilly in Philly.
I have not been given my time yet I meet with my surgeon again on May 11. Prayers going up for you as well! Can't wait to lose this tire around my waist.

I wore large t-shirts the x-large that I had before my RNY. On the bottom I had my large yoga pants & large pj pants from Old Navy. I had a binder and after a while ended up wearing a tank top underneath. My Dr. supplied the compression garments. Went home w/ an abdominal binder and ace wraps on my arms. The ace wraps came off after 3 days and was allowed to go w/o anything on the arms until I went in for my week check up. At that time my Dr. gave me compression sleeves. Kinda looked like a bolero (sp ?) jacket. Had two velcro closesures one over my boobs and one below.
After the arm work, putting t-shirts on over your head will be challenging for a while. I found it easiest to go with clearance tanks or camis from Old Navy that I could pull on over my hips to wear under the binder. I also swiped some workout pants from my daughter to wear, but after 2 weeks I was back in jeans/pants with no problems.
Initially, I had ace bandages on my arms. After 2 weeks my doctor switched me to silicon (for hydration), and said I could continue to use ace bandages loosely to keep it on, or tape, or whatever. I found that, in my case, trouser socks with the toe cut open gave me a bit of compression, held the silicon on nicely, and (if I bought tan) were invisible under most shirts.

Sorry - I was too asleep to be clear when I posted!
My bandages were ace, but only at the very beginning. After that, I had silicon strips to keep my scars hydrated while they healed, which were held on with the trouser socks that also supplied a little bit of compression.

I LOVE my arms and would do them again in a heartbeat. For me, scars beat old lady granny arms any day. My arms are awesome and I get compliments even from my 20-something friends who are jealous of them (and I'm 44).
