Belly button or no belly button?

I am getting my tummy tuck on 12 May and have been thinking about forgoing the belly button.  I am thinking about just getting a tattoo in it's place. I have heard of problems with them healing and stuff.  What are your thoughts on this?  Did you have problems with it healing?

December 2009, I had a TT and I got a belly button.  I'm returning in May for an Anchor Cut TT and I am going to ask for no belly button.  The scars are so visible with me (I don't heal well) and I won't be showing my tummy to anyone - so I'm going to forego the belly button.  For me it's not a big deal.

Yup!  I am going back to Dr. Sauceda!  I'm just thrilled.  A month from today and I will be sleeping in Monterrey about to wake up to head back to the OR!

I NEED a belly button -part of getting plastics (for me) is to look normal and no belly button is not normal (to me)

Not having one never even came up in my pre-op discussions. I was told it would be in a different place and made to look a lot cuter. I was all for that. I hated my deep and wide belly button that I ended up with from years of being overweight. I never had any issues with it healing. It never even got red. It looks SO much nicer than my original belly button.

I got a BB.  I did talk to my surgeon about it and he said it would be little and cute.  It is, and I had absolutely no problems with it!

My surgeon kept my BB and it's in the same place.  Don't exactly know how the cuts around it, but he does and it looks fine to me - will look better when it's healed and the scabs are gone.

Because of two c-sections, hernia and gall bladder surgery, and my rny, my surgeon felt that the blood flow would be comprimised. He was surprised when I said I don't care.   And really, I don't.  The whole point to rny and plastics was to look normal and I do.  You wouldn't notice if I said nothing if you saw me.
