Pain Pump Question..?
Hi, It's me AGAIN..
I would Love to hear from both sides..the ones that did and that did not have the pain pump...
For you that did..was it a huge plus for you and do you think it was worth the extra money..(I will have to pay an extra $300 for the pain pump if I want it..)
For you that did NOT have the pain pump..Do you wish you had,or do you think your pain was very manageble without it...? If you had to do it over again would you have insisted on the pain pump..?
Thanks everyone for any and all responses...!!
Please reply..

I did not have the pain pump - my doctor did not offer it - they had used it in the past and felt like it did not make enough difference for the cost. Also, you are numb all over so removing the drains was not painful, and today he extracted fluid and I did not feel it because of the numbness.
My pain was very manageble - I used the hard drugs the first 2 1/2 days then went to ES Tylenol and never looked back. There was, and still is, discomfort from swelling, drains, tightness of ab muscles, but no real pain. To have been cut from hip to hip and pubic bone to breast bone - absolutely amazing how I feel 2 weeks out.

PS...DON'T THINK YOU'RE OFF THE HOOK WITH ALL MY QUESTIONS....I HAVE TILL JULY TO POP ALL THOSE BUGGERS AT 'CHA...!!!!
If you are having your surgery in 2 stages, can 1 pain pump be used for both surgeries? Dumb question, but can someone else use it or is it just available for only 1 patient/pump? I'm wondering because I'm having 2 stages of surgery & my daughter is having surgery 1 week after my first one.

I'm thinking it's a one time use..but I'm not 100% sure...you might Google it and see what it says..Sure would be nice, huh, if you could reuse the same one for each surgery...but that could be unsanitary because of the tubing that goes under the skin..
That's not a Dumb Question, it would save money, for sure if it was a doable option..!
I know you are getting excited about your up and coming surgery/surgeries...The best to you and your daughter..!!!!!!
