I had a lift, then implants. Implants keep slipping, doctor doesn't seem to think much is wrong. I don't want to keep having them fixed. Tired of them feeling weird in my body also. So, my question is...If I have the implants taken out, will I have to have a re-lift or will I be fine? Anyone any information appreciated...

When you say slipping do you mean they are moving outward towards your armpits?

When I lay back they move into my armpits for sure. The doctor says that is normal...not. But, he won't fix them. The right breast implant slipped below the breast crease already once, this will be my second time to fix. I don't want to keep getting it fixed. Also, my thighs that he did a medial lift are not even either. I cannot afford new implants or the surgery to even take them out. But to take them out will be cheaper than new implants. Your thoughts??

I remember you having a problem with your implants awhile back and I think I mentioned to you about my own experience. My breast pockets were too big and my implants shifted laterally when I would lie down. It sounds like yours are also. It requires a procedure called a capsulorrhaphy. Internal sutures are placed so the implant can't shift. Mine was done as a revision that my surgeon didn't charge me for. It sounds like your surgeon is not really willing to work with you. I'm sorry you are dealing with this.

I don't know how much fullness your implants are giving you. What is your current cup size with the implants? I would think that by removing them you will definitely loose fullness. Whether or not you will sag would be a question you'd have to ask your surgeon.

As far as your thighs go. It might require some additional lipo to even you up. It takes time for everything to settle in but you should be happy with your results. I guess I am just so fortunate that my surgeon has gone out of his way to make everything right.

Would a different surgeon use the same implants or do they have to use completely new ones. From what I understand I would have to pay for new implants. IDK...I went to the Univ of Chicago Resident Program and I LOVED THEM! But, because they didn't take care credit I had to use someone else for the implants and regret that decision so much! Thank you for the information. I am a DD now, was a C before the implants. I can also see where the implant hits the breast tissue on the side of my breasts. I am going back to Univ of Chicago to get a price and opinion to fix these or take them out. I cannot afford to pay for new implants. The first time my dr. fixed my right breast he didn't charge me cause he did my thighs, but I still had to pay for OR and Anesth. But, he said "it really isn't that bad" ... not that bad?? I didn't just pay $1000's not to have great boobs! I am so frustrated...

I have no idea if another surgeon would work with your same implants or not. Hopefully you will get some good news with the Univ. of Chicago. I understand your frustration completely.

I have not had my PS yet, but I have come across some research and one of the doctors I had a consult with confirmed this.  There is a material that has been used in all sorts of reconstructive procedures and heart transplants - it's called stratus.  It's basically the dermal portion of swine (pig).  All of the DNA that identifies it with being a pig is removed and you are just left with a very strong material that our bodies don't reject.  If you have your breast fixed again, I would insist on having a surgeon who at least knows about this and has used it before.

They use it to basically make an internal bra to hold the implants in place so you will never have that problem again.  Many weight loss patients have this problem because our skin is not strong enough to hold everything in place due to being over stretched before.

If you want more info just PM me.  I have the brochure and web links at home if you want to read more about it.

Wishing you the best.

OK I'm home now, and found the info.  Sorry it's spelled Strattice.  www.lifecell.com
