About two weeks out this has started to happen, most of the time at night. I start to itch on one or both sides and have hives/red areas on my breast. As soon as I take allergy pills it relives the itch. This is what my Dr said to do, but I figured after the few times it would stop, but I still have it every few nights. I have a apt Tues and will check in, of course I read stories on the comp, with others saying the same thing and that they are allergic to the implant. Mine are saline, others have had the same issues. But also have read ones with silicone have too. I am not willing to have mine removed, and guess I will have to live on allergy meds. I just have to figure out something that doesn't make me want to sleep...ideas??

I had a breast lift and the morphine made me itch because of the sulfur. Take the benadryl daily and keep cold cream on your skin. I was itching so bad but the benadryl helped, I just take it all day to keep from scratching while I sleep. The itching is normal and will go away in a few weeks.

what worries me is it's on one breast some nights, and then another night it may be on both. My skin gets red and raised. It has been on and off now since probably the 2nd week after surgery. My surgery was March 17th. I hope you are right. Again will see my Dr this Tues. Maybe reading up on it from other sites wasn't a good idea! I will update you, with luck it will go away soon..thanks for your time to reply!

If you are still taking morphine, I would bet it's from that!  I'd quit taking it & see if it goes away.

I haven't had any medication since 24 hours after surgery since it made me sick. So has nothing to do with meds...thanks for asking.

If it is not the medication it could be the dressings or the tape.  I know that I had that problem until I was able to take the dressings off.  I also went "bra-less" at night (which I should not have done) but it did stope the incessant itching.  Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply but I didn't come home with anything but the special bra from surgery. And all the incisions look fantastic, guess I will see what the Doc says tomorrow...thanks again. I still am wearing a bra nightly...

This may be a silly question, but did you change your laundry soap?

Mine itched too for awhile after, but not nearly as long as yours did.  I figured it was just the skin stretching since he did take a lot off...

Are you using any scar creams?

Jody, nope no new soap or scar cream...nothing is different. And all is the itch and red bumps are only on my chest.

Well have my Dr stumped, he finds it odd that its only in the late aft/eve, or in the middle of the nights it's happening. He said that the only thing he can think of is if I am having reaction to the "thread" he used under my skin that will at some point disappear. If I ever get them during "day" hours of course he wants to see me. Going back in 8 weeks...lets hope they don't come back. I have been fine since last Friday night! :)
