Pain levels.. Plastics vs VSG
For those of you who have had the VSG surgery and have also had a tummy tuck and a breast lift, how do the pain levels compare?
I had lost 100 pounds on my own.. and possibly against my better judgment, I had mid journey plastics. I had an extended anchor cut tummy tuck and a breast lift. I am now planning on having the VSG done because I never was able to lose the rest of my weight on my own.. wondering what to expect as far as pain levels.
I have a high threshold for pain.. I didn't think the tummy tuck or breast lift was too awful.. uncomfortable, yes, but not awful. I've also had a verticle incision c section and a gallbladder removal if either of those are similar in your opinion.
Thanks!

Hi there! Ok, so I haven't had any of the surgeries you mention, but I found the VSG quite manageable. My only issue was that anesthesia makes me extremely nauseated and that was not controlled, so I spent four days vomiting, which made my sleeve-stomach swell so much that it was swollen shut and the pain actually got worse. Still, it wasn't even close to the worst pain I've experienced, and most people seem to find it very bearable.
Oh my Gosh! You are gonna be sooo happy. I have had 5 c-sections, and a year ago had my gall bladder out. Six months ago, I had a tt. The VSG is nothing!!! You will not even notice anything as far as pain goes. I was up walking outside the next morning and every day after. Never even took a tylenol. Seriously, on a 1- 10 scale, this would be a 1/2, where as my c-sections and tt were a 6/7. I too have a pretty hight threshold for pain, so thisi will seem like a vacation for you :)
Good Luck
