I had a panniculectomy done on March 3.....however my Dr. did extra work that is normally not included in a panniculectomy....He gave me a new navel and did some muscle tightening....

I had my second follow-up today and I forgot to ask him when I could resume some exercise.....

when did your Dr. advise that you could resume working out....I normally don't workout regularly but since my back feels 100% better I wanted to do some tummy work just to strengthen my core and keep the pain away since we are only limited to narcotics for pain.

can anyone give me advice on what their PS surgeon advised after PS on tummy and also any suggestions on a gently tummy workout

I was allowed to do cardio after two weeks (walking, stair master, and biking). At week four I resumed light weight liting (20 lbs or less). Listen to your body and take it slow

I am a bit of a fitness nut, so this was huge for me.  The muscle tightening keeps you from doing ab work out for 4-6 months.  I had my LBL in August and didn't realyl start doing serious abs until March (started doing a little bit when I was cleared to after 3 months).  It was a very slow climb back...but so worth it.  I can see my abs a little bit :)

I think if you are taking narcotics, best stick to walking for a while.  I had complications so my time line is a bit different.  I bet you could call your docs and see.
