Implants or no implants with Breast Lift
First of all, get more than one opinion. I had 3 consults and each one told me something a little different.
Surgeon A told me that he could do BL without implants and that I'd be small and perky. He said he could not do auto-augmentation as I don't have enough fatty tissue.
Surgeon B told me he could do BL with auto-augmentation and that I'd still be small and perky, but that he cold fill me out some with the tissues I have, so I'd look fuller. He can also harvest the fat from my LBL and inject it later if I want to be even fuller. (In his experience about 66% of the fat takes, so he puts in about 1/3 more than what he thinks is needed.)
Surgeon C told me that he cannot do a BL without an implant as I don' t have enough tissue to even lift.
I am going with surgeon B. He also happens to be a breast specialist and works with difficult cancer patients, so I trust his breast opinions.
Having said that, if I had not seen surgeon B, I would have done the BL without implants and waited about 6 months to see if I really wanted the implant. I was hoping that with the flatter tummy and perkier boobs, I'd be content with small ones. I was hoping to avoid implants if at all possible. I, personally, do not want the extra risk and extra maintenance.
Good luck with your decision!

I went no implants and am so happy I did! Well Dr. Lo did a great job, which helps. They look natural, feel natural, etc. I guess I am not much of an implant girl. But I ended up with a 38C, I have a large rib cage so a C is actually really big. I have small hips too, so the C is a bit top heavy...but its ok. They arent super full on top, but I am not 20, so I am fine with it. Anyways, I figured when I do my arms if I wanted impants I could get them then. Better then doing a second surgery to take them out I think.
When I went for my consult, my Dr told me I'd be a "small B" with just a lift. That wasn't acceptable to me.
I had the BL/BA with the implants under the muscle. Its more like I "used' to be and looks and feels natural for me.
I understand about getting old and having the implants standing up, but nowadays with the miracle bras, etc - who's even going to be able to tell in clothes? You can't tell I've had any work done now vs before because I had a great VS padded, lifting bra. Now I just don't need the padding and all the extra material... I love them!

I just had to make the same decision and decided to go without implants. I went from a 44DDD to a 34 D, doc thinks I will be in a small C after the lift. I too have some concerns about the implants and just want to see if I will be satisfied with what I have left before I sign up. I can always decide to get them later.
