mesh used for my tummy tuck?

Had my pre-op appointment yesterday for my tt, ba and lipo scheduled for April 19th.  I've seen my PS three times so far, between the consults and the final pre-op appointment.  This time, for the first time,  he mentioned that he'll be using mesh with my TT in order to prevent laxisity of my abdomen later.  He says that he uses mesh with great results, and that it's expensive and he's tried to get away from doing it, but that he can't argue with the results.

I'm a little confused and freaked out, because this is the first time he mentioned this would be part of my treatment.  I have been looking on the internet to see if this is a common approach, and frankly, haven't seen much.  I see that mesh is commonly used for hernia repair, but not often as part of the TT procedure.

Anybody have experience with this????    HELP!!!
