UPPER THIGH PAIN AFTER PANNICULECTOMY

My Panniculectomy was March 11, 2011...so I am almost 3 weeks out.
I have had pain in my upper left thigh area ever since I came home from the surgery.  It feels like a really bad bruise would feel except it is not bruised.  It hurts when you apply any pressure and hurts when I move that leg forward when walking. When sitting down, if I set anything on my lap that has any weight to it, it hurts that area.

At my 2 week check up I talked to my doctor about it.  He stated it could be that a nerve was during the surgery that runs down into that area.

Has anyone else experienced this?  Is this a permanent thing?  Will this pain always be there?

I'm sorry and concerned for you.  Your post takes me back a few years when my pal, leechetta,  experiencing nerve pain and  upper thigh stress of this sort.  Her doctors said oh we never cut near that area but they did tightly stretch upwardly and vertically a lot of  delicate skin that was genetically  designated  to stay where it could serve as a lining for her "poor" pelvic slope . This kind of thing can happen when they find out "too late" they made a misjudgment with the initial incision and have to use whatever skin is available just to close you up and get you out the door wondering and blaming your "poor nerve" for their mistake.

I saw Cleo's_moms before and after pictures the other day.  She has been through a lot and seems to be very happy with her outcome.  Great for her.   She is very giivng and generous on this board with her advise.  If I had had a such good outcome from such an ordeal I  would be too busy having a great life to post daily on this board  telling people not to worry about stuff...that the pain will go away in a few months.   Her experience is her experience. But I think youshouldn't just calm down and wait it out.  I'm not saying that you will turn out as bad as Leech  did., but sheesh if you can (and it's hard to do because life is so busy especially after what you have just been through) GO TO A REAL DOCTOR specialist (not a real plastic surgeon doctor.)  who knows about soft tissue/nerve damage.  Most doctors will never tell you another doctor might have made a  mistake though or even acknowledge there could be a problem.  It's shameful but it's the system and they have professional ethical bond not to do that but eventually  if people complain more and don't hide away and hope they'll get better in time Maybe "like the Vatican finally had to" they are going to have to give in tand admit to the horrific problems some plastic surgeons  who are working well beyond their scope of expertise doing all these panniculectomies and lower body lifts are creating for folks.
This specific , isolated, strategic Pain you are experiencing probably  means something

thank yall so much for the words of wisdom, advice, etc...
It is the top of my leg, top of my thigh.
I have noticed yesterday and today that it is a lot better...also, seems like I am getting a little sensation back in that area....I am 3 weeks out as of today...still have some swelling but getting better everyday.  Going to keep watching this and discuss it more with my Doc next week at my check up.
Thanks again
