Breast Reduction/Lift approved by insurance

My loooooong sagging breasts are causing me the same problems that my "apron" of a pannus caused......My panniculectomy was approved by insurance.

Now my upper back and shoulders are in constant pain from the weight of my "rocks in socks".....also rashes and minor infections.  I am back to using prescriptions creams, powders, etc. and documenting everything with my PCP and also photos.

My question is I do not want implants...I can literally fold my boobies under and you will see no nipple...I just want my nipples and the volume that is left to be put in the rightful place to eliminate pain and recurring rashes....I also get some numbness in the nipple area.

Has anyone had insurance approval for this situation?  If so, could you share with me the correct diagnosis and/or a sample letter for insurance.....thanks!

Hi I had a breast reduction with a lift and FED blue cross blue shield paid for it.  I was larger than a DD with a lot of skin, and shoulder indentions and back pain.  The key was that the insurance co paid for it as long as he removed enough tissue which is he did.  He took me down to a very perking and full C cup, which I didnt need implants, because of how he lift them.. I had alot of skin and I worried about that to, but I love my breast.

Insurance has aproved mine. I desire no implants because I don't like "the look".

But my doc has assured me that he can make me nice little breasts with the tissue I have.

Not sure what the documentation to BCBS said...I will have to take a look.

It was all a shock. I went for a consult and was approved for boobs, belly and arms...right out of the gate!

Good question....my question exactly.  I just had my panniculectomy 2 1/2 weeks ago and my insurance covered it.  Now I am wondering if they will pay to do the boobs?

congratulations on your progress and your panniculectomy!....How are you feeling?...any problems?...hope everything has been smooth sailing....My new navel is the only thing that is slow to heal solidly...but other than that I am very pleased and pain free in my spine and lower back now!

thank you  :)
I am feeling great...getting better everyday...had some pain in my upper left thigh area...almost felt like a very bad bruise.....now within the last day or so it has gotten better...
I still have some tummy swelling going on down low at my incision line but I am only 3 weeks out as of today.  My incision looks great....very low and VERY thin all the way across....much better than my original C-section scars and hysterectomy scar looked...now all of that is gone and I have this almost perfect little incision.  So far I am pleased with the results....just anxious for the swelling to go away so I can see the flat tummy I have waited YEARS to see.... lol
Have a good one

I have gone for my first consultation for a breast reduction and my doctors have submitted letters to document my back pain etc. Now to wait for approval from Cigna. Anyone had a reduction with nipple grafts? Due to my "G" size cups the surgeon thinks that this may be the way to go. He's going to try to move the nipple first on my largest breast and see if it's possible. Also, anyone have words of wisdom to share for recovery?
