I never even knew I should be messaging them...!
:(
WHered you get the Bio Oil?

I have little fish string pieces sticking out of my elbows.  The Dr told me why..but I can't rmember right now...somthing about it's attached to the stitches under the surface level of skin.

Both arms are still so tender..that I dont think I could massage them if I tried.  Were you massaging them right away?

How long did you wear the bandages for ?

Thanks for all the info... I'm in the "trenches" right now.  I had an "injury" to my right arm last week (1.5 weeks post-up),..and now it's severly red all around that area.  Goin in tomorrow to see what the situation is....when Dr lookes at it last week he said I didn't do anything major..but this week, it appearsthat 'something' happened to it...

Don't start massaging until he removes the sutures. And if you are still tender wait on it also. I didn't start massaaging mine until about 3 weeks out. I wore my compression for a long time. About 3 months. I got the Bio Oil from Walgreens.

I hope you didn't cause any serious injury. You have to really be careful. You'll experience some numbness for quite awhile. Just really take it easy and don't over extend either. Reaching over your head or even pulling up on the lever for the recliner can pull too much. Don't hesitate to ask for help.

I had "itching"  but st of that s gone now.  i don't know about the numbness so much,... but I DO know about sever irritation and PAIN.  As I mentioned, I'm still on pain meds at night.
I would like to email the pics of my scars (as of last night) to you... can you give me your personal email... I really don't want to post them on here...
I'm new to this site..not really sure of what's allowed.. or how to use these posts properly..everytime I log in and then go to reply to you..it makes me log on AGAIN...not sure why...??
Also, how did you personalize your home page so nicely?
BTW. your arms DO look great.  I would like the same result as mine.  Our current weight is very close to the same...my lowest weight was like 138ma nd I plateud at 140.  My 5 year anniversary for gastric bypass is in May.  In the last five years..not only have I lost 130 lbs... I've also been pregnant and gave birth twice as well.
;)
I'm still about 9 lbs away from my plateu weight... but I HAD to get these arms done now...there was ZERO fat in them...just inches of skin....!!!

How can I upload my current pics?

the fish string pieces are dissovable sutures. DO NOT CUTT HEM  or pull them out, they will either dissove or work their way out of your body and fall out, as far as dog ears I was lucky . I had dog ears on every incision and wihtin 6 months they were all gone.
my arms were tender I couldnt massage them either. as far as the tenderness in the armpit area I had that sometimes it drove me crazy I used gauze abd pads or u can use a maxipad to put between the elastic and your skin that seemed to help it was like the elastic was cutting into my skin and it became red and irritated.
wrinkles in the suture line in the folds of the skin well mine went away. I think my scars are very good check out my photos
Good Luck to you

I just wore a long-sleeved t-shirt -- turned inside out (so the seams were on the outside).
I did not wear compression garments.

I bought some 'Cuddle Unders' at Ross --- they fit snugly and were comfy.

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR RESPONSES...
WENT BACK TO DR TODAY...
and we started using the Sillicone Sheets for scar care..which are really thick, and leaves a good barrier to protect my arm from compression wrap.
So I'm back in compression wrap..halleluiah!
I was worried about not being in one..bc I read that its best for contour of arm, and to minimize width of scar....

anone have any info on the sillicone sheets?

My compression garment is a little different.  3/4 length sleeves fastens in the back with several eyehooks and in the front bra area (for my BL).  But the sleeves end up being tight and wrinkled at the elbows and part way up my upper arm.  I'll be 11 weeks out on Thur and I do go 1 or 2 days w/o the compression garment and just wear a sports bra during the week.  I've been using a Vit E cream before my garment goes on and morning and night when I'm in my sports bra.  I hope to start using my silicon sheets this weekend.  I wanted to make sure that everything was healing nicely before I started with the silicon.

So... update...

All this irritation..and now I"m having spitting sutures.... have had 4 so far...3 in one arm..1 on the left...
wondering if that was causing some of the irritation earlier..or if they are caused by the irritation.  Out of compression garment now...and just using dressing to take care of these opend wounds.. that the Dr. was pring into with tweezers and scissors to capture the stitches that my body is rejecting...

ugh...when will this misery end.  I love my arms.. and I don't regret my decsion...
just wishing after 3 weeks post-op..I'd be feeling much better than I do right now...
