Just wondering how long does a person  have to weight till they can get a tummy tuck how long did you have to maintain???.
My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

It's recommended that you be at a stable weight for six months to a year.  Not necessarily at goal but sustaining a stable weight.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

I was also told to be at a stable weight for 6 mos or more and that i should be within 20 lbs of my goal weight.

Hope this helps!

I think it depends on the plastic surgeon.  But as a general rule you need to have maintained your weight loss for at least one year.  And you don't need to be within 20lbs of goal weight, I never got that close to mine.   And I just had tt after almost 5 years after RNY.  But I've maintained my weight loss.

Actually, you should be within 20lbs of goal. Anything more than that then you are not ready. Having it too soon could jeaporadize results!

It does vary between plastic surgeons.  My PS has been doing abdominoplasties on weight loss patients for 15 years.  His opinion is that if you're w/in 15 - 20# of goal and your weight loss has "stabilized" (his definition of that is looser than some;  he defines stabilized as slowed way down; i.e. around a pound a week) you'll have good results.  I personally was very excited to hear that 'cause I'm close to goal and I noticed that the panni really hadn't changed in quite a few months.  There it was -- no bigger, but definitely no smaller.

I had an abdominoplasty 3 weeks ago w/ liposuction of inner and outer thighs.  I'm really starting to look GOOD!!!  The swelling issue is a bit disconcerting, but just in the last few days I'm really starting to see what my shape will be.  It's very exciting!!!

Now I can't wait to get back to the gym and continue my journey to goal.

I had RNY 15 months ago.  I have lost 153lbs and have been at my goal (actually below goal) or 5 months.  I have a TT, BL & BA scheduled for Apr 25th.  My surgeon said it's best to be at goal or darned close for the best results.

Really varies from surgeon to surgeon.
I am not at goal but my panni is not likely to change much.
It is very long and very loose...hanging like a curtain these days.

Had my RNY Oct of 09.
TT scheduled for August 8th!
