I read about your belly button, sorry about that.  I had mine cut around in another sugery and it bled for a long time.  Lighten up on the neosporin and give it a chance to dry a bit and I bet you'll be fine.

My surgery is April 25th.  Nervous but excited!  Thanks so much for taking the time to reply!

I have an extended TT planned for 4/8 and I plan to wear a gown and housecoat  home from surgery, and live in it and other gowns for the first week or two.  I think I would be more comfortable in a loose gown than pjs with a  waist and the things riding up my rear end.  Thought the drains might sit/function better with a gown.

I may be off base, though, and would love to hear from others.

wearing gown and robe to hospital is good idea especially if you have to arrive early a.m like 4 or 5 am like I did....However when you get home if you have drains you need to pin them to something so if you have a gown on and need to raise it up to tinkle the drain has to be pinned to something and it could get in the way

that is why some prefer to wear tank/pjs and pin the drain to the top part so you can comfortably use the bathroom cause a gown is just one piece...but whatever maes you comfortable...hopefully your drains won't be in too long and I love wearing sleepwear to the hospital before surgery for some reason it just makes the experience more serene and less stressful for me.

Thanks for the reply.   For some reason I thought the drains could be pinned to the compression garmet, but then, I don't have any idea what the compression garment will be like.

I may find out the gown doesn't work like I think it will.

I had an abdominal binder and that is where I pinned my 6 drains. When I took a shower, I had a heavy, long waterproof cord hung around my neck that I could pin the drains temporarily (it was one of those cords/name tag thingies that they give you when you attend a conference and some people use them to hold their ID's at work).

I was more comfy in pajamas, but if you prefer a gown there shouldn't be a problem.

I remember now that I pinned my JP drain to my compression garment after my RNY.  Funny how soon you for get that stuff!  LOL!

Hi, I had an ETT/MR and arm lift on Dec 2.  I wore loose pants (yoga) and a button down shirt to limit the lifting of arms overhead.  My binder had a piece of velcro on it to "pin" the JT to.

I needed help for two days getting to the bathroom and taking a shower. I took a shower the morning after surgery and sat on a stool in the bathtub.  My DH stayed in the room with me because I was worried that I would lose balance.  It is amazing how tired you get so quickly moving around the first few days.  I think a lot of it was the liposuction on the sides and mid back - that seemed to be the areas that fatigued the fastest.

I definitely was surprised at how prolonged and difficult recovery was.  I have had 8 surgeries and usually once the wound heals you feel pretty good, at 4 -6 weeks everything is back to normal.  Not with a TT!  It was probably 6+ weeks before could do much exercise and 10 before I could pu**** a little.

the numbness is the weirdest part for me - it improves a little each day and I am hoping that eventually most of it will be gone.  It was weird to adjust to the new shape and hardness of the belly - in a good way, but weird all the same. You will know what I mean after you have the sx.

GL on you surgery - you will be so glad you did it!
