Surgery scheduled, looking for guidance

Hi Everyone,

This is my first time posting here.  I'm three years out from my RNY, and am now scheduled for my plastics.  Im having a TT and lipo, plus a BA.  I'm full of excitement, and nerves!  My date is April 19.  Here are my questions:

TT, how painful really?  and how long should I expect to feel horrible.
Did you go down in your pants size afterward?  I wear a size 12 pants, but mostly because of my excess skin in the tummy area.  But I'm having a hard time visualizing what to expect my body to look like afterward.

BA...I am, and have always been, very small chested.  I am currently a 34A.  Was a 40A before my RNY.  I'm thinking of a full C cup for my Augmentation.  My surgeon feels that would be a natural looking size for me.  But I worry about how people will react when I suddenly have boobs....Especially people that I work with.  Can anyone share their experiences with me?  Positive and negative...and any advice on how to handle it or what I should expect would be greatly appreciated!

Overall, the only opinion that really matters is my own, and my husbands,  but I want to be prepared for how the "world" will react...just to brace myself...you know?

I had a lbl, whi*****ludes a tt. The pain was not at all as bad as I expected. In fact, I think the pain I had from my c-sections was worse than my lbl. I would characterize what I felt with the lbl more discomfort than actual pain. I had the On-Que pain pump in the hospital, and it really makes a difference.

I went down a size in pants, but they fit differently now. He took 7 lbs. of skin off of me and did a butt augmentaion, too, so that really changed my shape.

I also had a bl/ba at the same time. I was a very small B preop and now I am right at a 36 D. With my clothes on, it's kind of hard to tell I had that done, but I can certainly tell with my clothes off. I am a teacher, and so my colleagues who knew about it were very complimentary, but the kids I have this year who I also had last year haven't noticed anything (thankfully). Or if they do, they keep it to themselves (again, thankfully).

My husband loves how I look (but then he always has), and like you, his opinion and mine are the only two that count for me in this.

Best wishes on your surgery! I found that really upping my cardio helped me immensely in recovering from the surgery, and strengthening my legs also helped me in getting up and down afterwards.  I also increased my protein intake to 150 g a day beginning a few weeks prior to surgery and continuing for about 3 months afterwards. I've had a very good healing process.

It is great you have your hubby's support- there's no way I could have done this without my hubby's full and undying help, support, care, etc. They are indispensible in this process. And yes, it was a little hard to decide to decide the size I wanted to be, but I have a great surgeon and ultimately left the final decision in his hands. it turned out great because he could judge in surgery what my skin would accomodate, what looked best with my frame, and all the other intangibles.

You sound like you've researched and prepared well. I know you will have a great experience with this. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience.  It's exactly the kind of information I was looking for.  I think it's so sweet that you pointed out that your husband loves your new shape, but loved your old one too!  My husband of 23 years is exactly like that.  He loved me fat, skinny and all the inbetween.  He would have been fine if I never had the RNY, but of course,  he supported me because he wanted me healthy and happy.  Now that we are at this step, it's much the same.  He loves my body as it is right now, but is supporting my plastic surgery because he wants me to be happy with my body.  He is very supportive of the TT, but a little apprehensive about the BA.  Says he loves my small boobs.  I've had much honest conversation with him, wanting to be certain that he will also love my new boobs...which he assures me he will.  He is coming with me for my final pre-op with the doctor, to help me finalize my decision on the size.

Im grateful to hear that your experience with your students and colleagues has been positive.  I too am a teacher, but I teach adults.  Having never had the experience of having boobs, It's comforting to know that with clothes on, it won't be extremely noticeable.  Actually, I usually wear padded bras anyway.

My surgeon uses the On-Que pain pump also, I've heard only good things, so I'm glad about that.  Some of the surgeons I saw did not offer it, and it was one of the deciding factors for me (amongst many).  I have already started adding extra protein to my diet.  Figured it can't hurt.  I will head your advice and start uppping my cardio too.

Thanks again, for taking the time to respond.  I very much appreciate it!
