Clothes Shopping Question Post-Surgery

At 4 weeks out from a BL and TT, I am still somewhat swollen. Also, I am unsure whether I am going to get implants Yet, I need some new work clothes rather desperately as I have yet to buy anything more suitable for spring.

So, I'm wondering if trying on clothes with the binder is a good indicator of where I'm going to end up, and I can just go for it, buying what fits (snugly), or whether I'm going to end up smaller and wish I had waited. Right now, all my pre-tummy tuck skirts and pants fit fairly well.

I can probably squeak by with some new sweaters and just one new pair of pants at this point. Any advice, anecdotes about changes in size? Should I wait?

P.S. I am not a thrift store shopper. Too germaphobic. I know, I have....issues.

I found that even with the swelling it's better for me to try on pants without the binder... but I'm quite picky on how my pants fit. I'm still in my sports bra, but as of today I am allowed to wear bras! Victorias Secret here I come!
Good luck!

This may or may not make sense but with the binder on I have a flatter fit in the front of pants but without the binder on even though I am still healing i can wear a smaller size.

I am trying to wait until I am all healed to buy clothes because I have lost 15 pounds post-op and many inches but if you need work clothes then I would buy 1-2 outfits that fit comfortably with binder on just to get you by!

I'm 10 weeks out today from LBL, BL, arms and upper thigh lift.  I did buy some yoga pants to wear to work.  They look nice, but have to wear boots because they are a bit too long and I'm too lazy to hem them.  I picked them up at Sams Club - 2 for $23.  They do attract every bit of fuzz within 10' of me.  While I was healing and at home, terry cloth pants/sweats were more comfortable.

Most of the time I'm in my compression garments still, as I'm still swelling and it does help.  There are a few days, that I'll skip the bra/arm garment for a sports bra, but when the arms swell too much, it's back into the top garment.  I wore some hip hugger jeans the other day at work with short underware over the compression garment and the garment was too slick and my jeans kept sliding down.  I was constantly pulling them up.  Felt like I was one of the teen boys with their pants down to their knees... not a good feeling.  The jeans may be ok w/o my abdomen garment, haven't tried that combo yet.  1 or two days a week, I try to go w/o just to let my body breathe.  My pre-PS clothes do fit much differently now.

I would wait at least two full months before buying bottoms. He removed 5.5 lbs of skin in LBL and it took me from a 2-4 to a 0-2. Heck, I still see new results almost everyday.

Be happy.

I can't really help here because I am 3 weeks out today and my pre-op jeans are still too tight due to swelling... that being said if you do need new clothes how about some wrap style dresses.  I've always liked them because theyre typically a flattering style plus as swelling goes down and you get smaller youll be able to wrap them a bit tighter and they'll still look nice.  or if leggings are your thing you can buy some nicer pairs that you can wear with a sweater/blouse that look professional and since theyre strechy will accomodate you with swelling but will still fit as the swelling does down.  I also bought some really cute skirts that had elastic waistbands from target to wear to work as i was losing weight after my RNY- they were really cute and i could wear them longer than I could pants.  Just some thoughts.
