question....
I had my lbl last June and have had a great recovery from it. Since it involved muscle tightening, I followed my dr's instructions to abstain from ab exercises for 6 months in my workouts.
I love to run and do step aerobics, and I've added the Insanity workouts for the last 3 weeks, which inlcude a whole new level of ab work.
My question is this: during some parts of the workouts, I feel like one side of my abs are cramping something fierce, almost like they are rolling inside of me. I even have to stop for a bit to get them to settle down. I don't want to do anything to stretch my internal sutures. I am cleared for ab work.
Has anyone had this happen to them? Maybe it's just the intensity of the workout and doesn't have anything to do with my surgery.

You are not alone. I do the weight machines at my gym and I get the really tight cramping also. I can even get it just bending over for a long period of time, like putting lotion on my legs. I'll get a cramp and sometimes when I stand back up my ab muscles will be in a spasm and even contorted somewhat. I just have to stop what I'm doing and let the muscles relax. My abs are still rock hard just like they were immediately after surgery. My tummy tuck was in 2009.
