How much time did you have off work for your panniculectomy!!!

The surgeon said 6 weeks, my medical note said 10 to 14 days...

I lift on 200 and 300 pound residents!!! :O((

Wow, okay, there is a huge difference between going back to work at a desk job versus someone who has to lift heavy residents. Please discuss this with your doctor and place of employment - hopefully your doctor will be able to add a limitation to the amount of weight you can pick up during your healing phase and again hopefully your work will be able to allow you an accommodation for a short time when you first start back at work. Work accommodation could be you return to your current job but don't lift patients or you temporarily perform other work your employer provides until you're ready.

B**** 6 weeks I had healed well so my surgeon allowed me to return to normal activies and to slowly resume lifting heavier objects. At about 6/5 weeks I was shovelling heavy, wet snow quickly and efficiently - you would never have guessed under my winter coat that I had just had major surgery recently.
