Post-Op Tanning Question

Hello, I am 3.5 months out from having a LBL, brachioplasty, and breast augmentation with lift. I am pleased with my new body and am wanting to go to the tanning bed just a few times to get some color. Can anyone tell me if they tanned after surgery, how far post operatively they started, and what you did to protect your scars. My arm scars are the ones that worry me the most.

Thanks,
Mar

I thought you were supposed to wait a year to keep them from darkening.  I haven't had surgery yet but that is what I've heard.  You might want to go with spray tans for the summer.
Good Luck

My instructions say to wait a minimum of 6 months before tanning to minimize scarring.  My scar won't see the sun -- so honestly, I don't plan on changing anything.  I would be much more concerned about arms too.

So how about if you have the scars covered, like the breast scars?  Are those ok with a thin swim suit or do you need some padding as well?  Or for a TT scar?  I guess I hadn't thought about this before?

Good question!

I was allowed to tan 3 months out if I put paper tape on my incisions and covered them with a bathing suit. Now 5 months out and tan naked and I'm fine
