I was scared too and it wasn't so bad. I'm scared now about the next stage - thigh lift and breast lift but I keep reminding myself that I survived the LBL/hernia repair and arm lift without any problems.
It's good that you're reading the board so you'll be well prepared.

What DR did you choose? And if you have helpful sites and profiles you found in your search...pass them on to me! :)

Kellawanda, I chose Dr. Terry McCurry (Louisville, Kentucky). The best sites I've found are here and at Make Me Heal. Doing web searches was kind of frustrating because it seemed that 98% of the sites it linked hadn't been updated for a few years. With changes in the areas of post weight loss plastics being so rapid, I want current information.
I actually wrote to my surgeon and asked him if he'd ever had anyone die during or from complications of belt lipectomy, and he was honest in his answer that he hadn't, but that he did know of two deaths in L'ville in the past four years, involving patients of other surgeons. I replied that he had a good track record; let's keep it that way
