Crossing my fingers that you aren't cancelled!  Did they give you some recommendations to get your levels up fast?

Good luck!

really many components of the blood, if outside of a normal range can prevent the surgery.
rbc, platelets (clotting), hemoglobin (poor blood oxygen concentration), white blood cells (decreased ability to fight off infecton which is always a risk with surgery- especiially with large incisions), low ir

I hope that everything is OK and your surgery goes off as planned- i understand how exciting this time is and the anticipation you feel for the surgery- BUT plastic surgery is a major assault to the body and you want to be in the best shape possible when you proceed to help avoid any complications.  Good luck- keep us posted!!

My pre-op screening/registration whatever you want to call it is tomorrow morning at the hospital.  My PS told me that if my iron level is below 10 he will not operate until I get infusions or something to get it above 10.  I am very concerned, since my most recent level in September 2010 was a 13, and that was right after a second series of 5 iron infusions each.  :(  Keep us posted!

Well, was talking to the pre-admission clinic today and it is my WBC 3.3..Ref range(4.0-11). And my Neutrophils are 1.5 Ref range (2.0 - 9.0)..... That are low...But, she said the surgery should still be a goo!

Cross my fingers!
