how much does skin stretch?

I went to ps to check into breast aug.  I went thinking was still too heavy for lower body stuff.  When telling Dr. that I was trying to balance hips he checked my hips and thighs said even at 220 he can do LBL and thighlift.  I'm now wondering if it is possible I don't have a lot of lose skin while my lower half is big it is firm wondering if he can really cut out the fat parts and stretch the remaining stuff enough to get it together?  Don't know if I'm even making sense or just panicking because I wasn't expecting this at t his time?  He pointed out and I agree how the large tire of fat around the top of my thighs does make walking/exercising difficult.

The fat would be lipo'd out. I'm not sure how much more weight you are hoping to lose but I personally would want to be as close to goal as possible before I would have it done. I have seen work done and then the person went on to lose a lot more weight and her results changed a lot. She ended up having to have revisions.

Renee,
He is telling me he will cut the excess he says with lipo you just have to come back and cut off the skin.  I'm just wondering if he can cut out about 3 inches of skin/fat at top of thigh and still stretch the remaining skiin to meet.  I actually have a shelf (not a slope)at the top 3 inches of my thighs on the outside then they slim down to the larger side of normal and I just don't find pictures showing this  on the internet. He is a specialist in reconstruction and a professor of plastic surgery w/great credentials so not worried about his skills.  The thigh lift he is doing is a medial to just get the top of the inner thighs this will make it easier for me to walk which is fine with me and I fully expect if I lose more weight to have to go back for the lateral so not worried about that.  I have been at the same weight for a year now so will be surprised if I go down further. Maybe I should tell myself if he I trust him to work on me I should trust him to know what he is doing.
Thanks
Cheryl

I agree about getting at least a second opinion, especially since thigh lifts are already the most notorious for having problems with the incisions opening up, not healing properly, and necrosis (and the necrosis is a result of cutting off the blood supply to the area... the chances of which will be increased if you have a lot of tissue rather than just skin removed).  My TT incision turned necrotic (because it was the third midline incision in less than 3 years), and it was disgusting, took almost 6 months to completely heal, and leftr me was scarring that looks like a burn instead of a thin incision line.
