anchor cut and belly button

Ok, I had the anchor cut on 3-4-11 and evevrything has been going great.  Pain managable.  I went for my follow up on 3-7-11 and everything looked good according to the Dr.  Had to see my Dr. partner b/c my dr was out of town.  Was able to go home and take a shower.  I noticed my belly button had a dark purple spot on it and assumed it was ok, since i just saw the dr.  The place is still dark purple and the size of a dime.  Everything else looks great.  Just curious about this spot and if anyone has any feedback.  I am going to call my dr tomorrow morning.

I don't have an answer about the belly button, but I have this same procedure scheduled in April.
Is the pain really managable?  I had NO pain with my RNY or my hysterectomy, but I am concerned about the is procedure.

The pain was not bad at all.  The pain was mainly from being so tight.  The incisions did not hurt at all.  I did take my pain meds every 4 hrs around the clock the first 48 hrs.  Know I only take 1 dose if that a day.  Depending on what I have been doing.

Thanks!!  Over the past 3 years, since having my surgery, MANY things have happened and I have found out I am MUCH stronger, and braver, than I ever knew.

I can't wait, now, since I made up my mind.  I actually saw the PS 2 years ago, then tried to live with this skin, but I can't.  Just trying to function with this big apron has been enough to convince me I needed to do it.

my BB was black and I thought it looked disgusting but my PS said it was great , I think the dark stuff is lik a glue  but I would call anyway and ask and by the way my BB is BEAUTIFUL

Thanks for the reply.  I see my stiches all the way around ot but the one spot inside the stiches is dark purple.  I have had several surgeries that went through my BB and i am thinking it is going to take longer to heal.  I am going to call my Dr. in the morning to make sure.

My belly button turned completely black then scabbed over before falling off, took two months.  I don't really have a belly button now.  Take a look at my profile and you can see photos of it.  My doctor said he could create one but I think I will just leave it.  The problem was there was not enough blood circulation around my belly button due to prior surgery scars there so it died.

There is only one place that looks bad.  I tried to look at ur profile but could not.  I am sending a friends request.  I have had 5 surgerys and sure that plays a big role.  I go to dr tomorrow.
