I didnt work out before hand. I asked if i could or if it was a good idea...my dr said i could but it didnt matter. I got a lower body lift liek 2 weeks ago and i miss the gym soooo much she said i can do light cardio at 4 weeks and slowly work my way up...use my head if it hurts dont do it. As far as weighs she said we'd talk about it on my one month check up!

I'm just curious if anyone who had plastics intentionally lost weight before plastic surgery? If so how much, and did you gain any weight back after plastics because you were unable to go to the gym for a while? When did you return to working out? Thanks for any repliesI had problems eating for the first few days post-op due to the effects of anesthesia and pain meds (Nausea). After surgery, you body will actually need more calories/energy as well as nutrients for healing, especially early on. Some people actualy lose weight post-op because of this in addition to the loss of the excised skin/fat. As for getting back to a work out/gym - that will depend on the surgery you have, your surgeons protocol and your ability to heal.
I had an LBL/hernia repair and arm lift. I was limited to not lifting anything heavier than a jug of milk for about 6 weeks after which I was allowed to slowly work my way back to my normal routine. I was able to walk immediately post op but I moved so slowly that it took a couple of weeks before I was able to return to my normal brisk/cardio type of walk that I enjoy.
I'm stepping up my exercise in preparation for my tummy tuck in August.
If I lose a few more pounds, fine. I just want to strengthen my core and get ready.
But my calories remain at 1200-1500 and protein at 100 grams a day.
