I have been denied. I have lost 220 lbs. I have been at a steady weight for almost a year. Its been almost 2 yrs since my surgery. I have had gall bladder removed. I have had a perf. ulcer repaired in emercency surgery. I now have a hernia that allows my actual stomach to poke out of my upper abdomen
I have a TON of belly skin that intereferes with my life.
Because I am at BMI 34 and not 30 insurance says No.
Dr agress that I have no more to lose but the skin on my belly. That would take to to the BMI they want.
Any ideas?
I need this badly.
Im so upset that I cant even find the energy to begin this fight. I need help and ideas. ANYONE???

The hernia repair should be covered regardless of your BMI. If they won't cover the panni or tummy tuck the surgeon might work out an additional fee for that. A lot of people have to go that route due to insurance only covering what they consider medically necessary.

At our last user support group, one lady explained how she got her panni removal. She used lava soap and then duct tape to create rashes, then would go into her dr and get it documented. She would use the cream and do the soap/tape again and go back in. She did have to pay for the upgrade to a TT, I think was only 2K or so. I would think an experienced PS could estimate within a pound or two, how much skin you have.

(bad, I know - but I think if I get rashes on a consistant basis - that should be good enough..shouldn't matter that they only happen every month, not 3 times in one month!)
- but nothing has worked...
I hadn't thought about duct tape for irritation LOL
Thanks! ;)
