Extremely Anxious About TT on May 13th
Hi everyone, feeling soooo nervous about TT. Its still a ways out but the anxiety seems to keep building!!! I am wondering what the pain is going to be like? My surgeon has offered a take home pain pump with a local anethestic but I am very skeptical as I have had problems in the past with locals. Is it even reasonable to have the surgery without this pump? Sorry for all the questions, im just a wreck right now. Thanks in advance to everyone who can give me answers. Please feel free to share anything else you think I might like to hear. Chrissy

Totally normal to be nervous... I know I was! I was worried about the money and pain and result... but now at 6 weeks post op I am THRILLED... go through pics and try imagine what your post op body may be like, I know thats hard, but it may be worth a try.
I did have the pain pump, and used pain meds. Make sure you get a stool softner incase the pain meds make you constipated. The pain really wasn't as bad as I'd thought it would be. And the results are great!!
Best wishes to you!

I had a TT 5.5 weeks ago. I did not have a pain pump. I was on pain pills and I only needed them for about one week. The first few days were hard, mostly hard to get out of bed or off the couch. I was really scared about the healing/pain before my surgery. It really was not as bad as I thought it would be. The worst part for me was dealing with the drains and they came out after 7 days. You will do fine, it really isnt bad. Good luck.
highest wt. 250. pre-surgery 238. current 142.

I had abdominoplast/y/lipo of thighs 3 days ago. 1 drain. Pain manageable w/ Advil (not really supposed to take Advil w/ VSG but I figured it won't hurt for a few days -- I've taken it once or twice a day). Took Oxy last night 'cause I thought it would help me sleep -- I hated it! Just weird dreams and felt like I was awake most of the night.
A little difficult getting out of bed first thing in a.m. Need the great husband to give me a hand.
Got to take ace bandages off (lumpy) legs this a.m. and take the abdominal binder off and get a shower. I just hung a lanyard holder around my neck and pinned the drain to it. A shower never felt so good! Then I put on some shapewear, put the abd binder back on, pinned the drain to the binder; put sweats and a sweater over all that and went out for breakfast.
Moving kind of slowly but doing great. Sitting in a comfy chair w/ my feet on an ottoman and pillow and looking down at a slightly swollen but otherwise flat tummy!!
I forgot to see where my VSG scars ended up. My belly button looks good.
Anxiety is normal! In my case the anxiety was worse than the reality has been. Good luck!

Anxiety is very normal. I just had to work harder at keeping myself busy until the time came. Exercising, cleaning, planning, whatever!
I had a pain pump so I can only speak to that. It's kinda hard to speak to the other if you did or didn't use one. I found the pain very manageable but mine only lasted about 2 days. I hear some last longer. My surgeon recommended it for his patients as he noticed a difference with his patients. I was really worried about the pain with a lbl so for me that helped put my mind at ease. I probably wouldn't have done it if I had just done the TT.
