How Do I Apporach the Surgeon??

Hi there!

I want to have a breast lift and implants, but how do I come out saying.... I want to pay cash give me your best deal!

Any ideas how to approach them? or how do I google it. Like how much will it be by me paying cash.

That is pretty much just what I did.  I met with the surgeon and told him that I was gonna be self pay and didn't have a ton of money.  I said that I was planning on going to Mexico because of this but would really rather have my surgery done here in the US for access to follow up care in case of complications.  Told him that I had three other consults and was considering another Doctor but was referred to him, great repetation etc, and asked him what he could do f0r me.  I then kept quiet.    I really did go to three other consults and this doctor only charged me $1500 more than it would have cost in Mexico with Dr. Sauceda (who I was really going to go too).  He did a good job and I am planning on more this summer.

WOW! He charged you $1500 for breast lift or breast augmentation? OR BOTH?

I think she said $1,500 more than Dr Sauceda was going to charge.  That's been my experience as well -- Plastic Surgeons are pretty competitive.  I got one price and one suggestion of what she thought I should do, then I e-mailed the first doctor I had consulted w/.  He had a slightly different idea and "oh by the way, I'm having a special, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah."  Just be honest; get multiple quotes; see pictures of their work; talk to former patients.

I'd say it excactly how you just did. Plastic Surgeons are used to blunt self-pay questions. They aren't scary people-  if they can work a deal in this economy, they often will. Just remember - they can only discount THEIR fees, they cannot discount hospital fees, anesthesia etc. Those are a whole other entities!

Just to clearify, I got my Extended TT for $1500 more than I would have paid in Mexico with Dr. Sauceda because I told the Docter here the Mexico's price...he discounted his fees.  The others are correct.
