I am a planning on having a tummy tuck or lower body lift and also breast augmentation.

What Plastic Surgeons in the Knoxville area do you have experience with or could recommend?

Has anyone got Tenncare Medicaid to pay for a tummy tuck as reconstructive surgery?

I live in West TN, but my plastic surgeon that just operated on me is out of Nashville.  He's great.  I know at least 10 people including me and my mother who have had procedures done by him and he is incredible.  I'm 2.5 weeks out from a breast reduction and tummy tuck. You could make an appointment to go see him and just see what he has to say.  That's what I did. 2 weeks later I had an approval from my insurance company (Blue Cross/Blue Shield) for both procedures.  :) He is just incredible. I couldn't say enough great things about him as a physician.  I have known him over 20 years and have seen many people he has operated on. I am also a nurse and take care of his patients post-op here in my town (he comes here twice a month).  The entire process from an evaluation appointment to surgery was less than 8 weeks. The majority of that time was simply waiting my FMLA notice out for work. I had to give 30 days notice.I don't know anything about TennCare Medicaid and pre-auths.  Mine was approved as a functional issue I believe.  Of course when I got my EOB yesterday from my insurance company, they are now trying to deny the tummy, which is crazy.  I have it pre-approved in writing. I expect WW III now.

 My plastic surgeon is Jay Lucas at the Lucas Center in Knoxville (Mercy West).  He did a panniculectomy on me 3 years ago, prior to my GBP, and I was thrilled with the result.  He has a wonderful attitude, a very caring staff and is a great surgeon.  He is doing my TT and LBL on March 25th.  I am self-pay.
