SO I had a LBL/TT and BA a little over a year ago and extrememly pleased with results did not realize exactly how well it went until today when I went back for a follow up and looked over my before pictures at the docs office wow what a change I don't remember being that gross LOL

Anyway I am considering getting bracioplasty my arms im sure I spelled it wrong
I was wondering if any of you that have had this procedure could tell me what the recovery time is I have a very physical job lifting and using my arms . And what you paid for it as I got a consult today and it was alot more than I expected about 11,000.
Are you happy with the results and would you do it again if given the chance to do it over.
At first my surgeon advised mr against it as he said the scar would probably be worse than living with the excess skin and fat. But after todays appt. he was so impressed with the way my bottle scars and heals he said he would suggest it for me if I wanted his nurse said she was really surprised as he does not usually advised this surgery because most are more unhappy with the scar.

Anyway any info you can give would be helpful.

Thx

I had my arms done about a year ago.  The scar is now pretty much just a white line.  My arms were really large so my incision starts about and an inch below my elbow, goes up my arm, and down about 6"  from my arm pit (at least now I don't have to shave under my arms).

If you have to do alot of lifting at work, I would guess you would be out for 5 to 6 weeks.  My job is about half sitting and half walking.   I was out for 2 and a half weeks and the first week back I only worked half days.

I paid $5,400.

Would I do it again - YES.

I am about 8 months post plastic surgery. My plastic surgeon called the procedure an extended arm lift but I suppose it could also be called an upper body lift since it was combined with a breast lift/breast reduction and removal of all the excess skin on my sides.

I am very happy with my results and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

On a scale of 1-10, it was a 7 for the first week, 5 by the second week, and 4 by the third week and 2 at 4 weeks when I went back to work. After the 2nd week, it was more sore and uncomfortable, especially because of the swelling and limited range of motion.

Out of pocket for me, approximately $9500, my insurance covered a basic arm lift which would not have extended past the elbow or the armpit. I wanted to make sure that we removed as much excess skin and tissue as possible so I paid to extend the arm lift past the elbow, through the armpit and down my sides to the bottom of where my bra sits. It made a huge difference, now there is no skin hanging over my bra and rubbing and I don't have to shave my pits. The prices for plastics in your area might be lower than here

Pics of my scars on my profile. Feel free to ask any questions.

Take care,
Ole

I had my brachio about 1 1/2 years ago and completely happy w/ the results. I was off work for 4 week becasue I had my LBL done at the same time. I was restricted from lifting heavy weights ti about 6 weeks. Went back to working out hard time w/ weights til 7 weeks only because I still had a drain in from my LBL til 6 weeks. Dr. released me to go back to normal workouts w/ weight lifthing at 6 weeks. My scars are very minimal and much better than the hanging skin and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I had my arm lift and tummy tuck done almost 6 years ago and LOVE my results.  I am very fair skin and it takes my scars a long time to fade, took almost 3 years, but I would rather deal with the scars than the sagging skin and rashes I was getting.  I would do all my procedures again in an instant.
Good luck.

I had my arms and a tt done at the same time. I was down for about two weeks. I couldn't lift anything over 5 lbs for about four weeks. I was doing routine household cleaning after two weeks but my arms would swell. I paid $14,650 for both. Yes it was worth it and I'll do it again in a heart beat. My scar is long and it used to be very noticeable but now it's fading nicely.

My arms were not bad at all ... but I had them done anyway because I was worried if I didn't they would look out of place once everything else was tights.   That said not much was removed, but the recovery was nothing.   I can only imagine the change it would be for someone with a lot of skin/tissue to be removed!   I would say YES ...do it!

I paid part of a total package price so don't know exactly what I paid ... but the full price is listed at $4,500. ... I went to Mexico with Dr. Sauceda.

I had brachioplasty and a breast lift 5 weeks ago; the recovery was not nearly as bad as I had anticipated.  The armpits were the most uncomfortable; I also had discomfort and tightens in my forearms from bruising and nerve inflammation that lasted several weeks, but all pain was manageable.  I waited until I graduated from nursing school and have delayed finding a job until I complete all of my plastics (probably another 3 months).  If your job requires lifting, I would say a minimum 4 weeks off.  If you could return to work with limited duty- maybe 2-3 weeks off and then take it easy when you return.  My scar is on the inner aspect of my arm and it healing very nicely, it is still red, but is more or less flat, and the silicone treatment is working already- my other scars have healed nicely without any form of scar treatment so I expect these will also fade and flatten.  If they stayed the way they were today, or even immediately post op- I'd have taken that over the hanging skin any day- and I'd redo the procedure in a heartbeat.

My arms cost me just under $6k, but I did it at the same time as the breast lift which was covered by insurance- most of my OR/anesthesia/recovery was picked up by insurance.  The hospital I use has a flat hourly rate called a cosmetic package that includes OR/anesthesia/recovery- after taxes it came out to about $2300 I believe, and the surgeon's fee was $3500.  This is for Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC.

Hi Chris, I am Jen,  i am having breast lift and bracioplasty on Monday and just wanted to say your posts have been so helpful, thank you and good luck with your upcoming surgery, I am going to do lower body lift in July-I have a few questions, what was the silicone treatment you were refering to?, how long before you are lifting books, groceries? and how long till you think you would feel comfortable to work out, jog or lift weights? I would love to see your pix if you are willing to share, I am having my surgery at Mercy Medical Center on Long Island with Dr. Brewer. Thanks again you have already been a great help.
