PS and Tricare

Hi...new here. Wondering if anyone got successfully approved by Tricare for TT or any other PS. If so, do you know what the referring dr did or said to make it happen.

I had Tricare at the time of my TT.  I also had a midline incisional hernia so I had to get that fixed too.  I had RNY Nov 06, and had repair/TT in Oct 07 (less than a year).  I had my PCM write a referral that I needed the hernia repair and panni removed.  I had my RNY at a military hosp also so the military surgeon also referred me for the TT.  I then consulted with a civilian PS who told me to see a general surgeon. The GS submitted the claim to Tricare for approval stating the hernia repair would not be successful without the skin removal... The PS basically piggybacked.

I would recommend you start by getting your PCM to refer you for PS.
