Did your excess skin change after surgery and before plastics?

Hi - I know that many plastic surgeons recommend that you wait until your weight is stabilised etc before doing any plastic surgery and typically it seems to be that people wait about a year for this.

I just wanted to know if any of you noticed any changes in the excess skin during this time - did it get better/worse etc.

Many thanks

I definitely had a lot of tightening of the skin between 12 and 19 months post-op. I am glad I waited to have surgery because what I had at a year was very uch different now that my skin seems to have settled and stablized.

Yes.  I had a TT 15 months out, but knew THAT skin wasn't ever going to go away.

Now - my thighs, which were shar-pei-ness-like... have filled in a little, and don't look nearly as bad.  Yes, I've gained 5 lbs and when I get it off, not sure if it will come back off there.  But I've noticed that the rest of my fat has redistributed.  Some has gone to my face (no longer looking gaunt), and to my thighs/butt.  My clothes are still fitting ok, albeit some of the 2's are a bit tight now.
