Hi All

I am new to this forum but have used the sleeve surgery forum for a while now. I am booked for a full TT and lipo a week from today and i am very excited!

I have a few questions for you who have had your TT surgery!

How long before you could sleep on your side? I have back issues (buldged disc) and i'm a bit worried about my back pain getting worse b/c of the new positions my back will be in inlcluding walking bent over! How long will i have to do that as well?

I realize we are all different but one question i didnt get to ask the surgeon was how many sizes he thought i would go down? I am currently wearing sz 18 and some 16's depending on the pants and xl tops. He said he would be removing approx 10lbs of skin but not sure if that included the fat he will remove with lipo or would you think the lipo is extra? lol

For those of you further out, how has weight gain/loss affected your result? I have been at a stable weight but i am thinking if i am able to move easier post surgery i will feel like exercising more resultiing in more weight loss. Normally this is a good thing but i dont want to ruin my TT surgery! There is also the worry of gaining and losing the same 5-10lbs. Long story short how much weight have you been able to safely gain or lose without ruining your result?

Any issues with your drains?

Thanks in advance for your help and any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

It will be a year in March since I had my TT.  It was about 4-5 weeks before I slept on my side.  I could stand up straight right after the surgery.  I went down a dress size after the swelling subsided (about 3 months after the surgery).  They removed 5 inches of skin which weighed 7 lbs.  I gain and lose the same 5 to 7 pounds every month and it hasn't made any different with my TT.  I had two drains - one came out 5 days after the surgery the other after 9 days.  They were attached to my binder with velcro strips.  When I took a shower I just tied a piece of fabric around my waist and used the velcro to hang them from the fabric.   After the TT for the first time in as long as I can remember I could finally stand on the scale and look straight down to see what I weigh!  Good luck.

 Hey Liz....

Congrads on the TT you are going to love it.

You should be able to sleep on your side in about a week. it is just getting in and out of bed that is hard using those muscles hurts. try a recliner much easier getting up and down.

I lost about 5-8 pounds after my Plastics and I can tell you that the skin is looser and I actually feel like they could pull my stomach tighter again it is not bad just not perfect how we all want to be.
SO my advice maintain make sure you are the weight you want to be.

I just had my one year check today and I saw my before pics again and I can't believe how gross I was LOL huge improvement and I am totally happy with the results.

Best wishes Ill be thinking about ya

Cheers
