I am having surgery on Wednesday.  The hospital recommneded I use this special soap for 3 days before my surgery.  I did not use it before my other surgeries I just used Dial Soap.

Has anyone else used this prior to surgery?

Thanks (a very excited) ME!

I actually use it on my face on a regular basis, it's very mild and allows your PH to balance out - great for adult acne break outs.  My teenage daughter uses it too.

You can pick it up at Target or most pharmacies, it's behind the counter but not a prescription item.

Thanks Amy - i actually got it tonight and it was just ont he general shelf.  I thought they said it was behind the counter but when I went there they told me it was on the first aid isle.  Hope I got the right stuff!!

Hi Kristi,

I used it before my ETT/BR/BL last month for the same reason - my surgeon was "The Fabulous Dr. K." as well :-).  The nurse from Fair Oaks just told me to use during my last shower prior to surgery (I'm sure three days is even better, though)  - I was happy to oblige since I wanted to do my best to avoid MRSA or any other cooties!

The best of luck to you on Wednesday - and say hi to our favorite doc for me!

I had to use it prior to my Lap Band surgery and plan to use it prior to my LBL that I'll be having this May.

I have had numerous surgeries..I have Spina Bifida. I was given Hibiclens to use before my last surgery (gallbladder removed). It is just a more antiseptic/"anti-germ" type soap, used a lot in hospitals. I still have some left and I use it in the shower once in awhile. In fact, I was/am planning to use it the morning of my surgery (2/28/11!!!), because they told me I would have to shower or bathe before I come in that morning. Good luck to you.
