I had a TT and BA 4 weeks ago, I stayed in the hospital one night.
I did workout daily up to my surgery and it helped to have strength in the lower body to help in getting up and down. I also upped my protein leading up to surgery.
Best wishes!
Lisa
you look amazing!

I just had a hernia repair with and extended tummy tuck 7 weeks ago.(Lookin' good!) I was in the hospital for 3 nights. As for your meds, if you know you are going to stay a few days bring your prescription bottles(this is important) with you and inform the nurse that you must take these meds. They will order them for you and give them to you at the times prescribed. Godd luck on your surgery.

thank you sooo much!......how was your pain post-op and how long did your surgery last?

what kind of pain medicine were you given post-op?......I seen PS in January and sort of thought I would not get approved so I did not up protein...

then a few days ago, I was approved.now my nerves are rattled..lol

do you work out?...I am completely flabby and unable to workout due to bad back pain so were your tummy muscles real sore post-op?

My surgery took about 6 1/2 hours. I had my surgery done in NY Presbyterian Cornell Hosp.
Pain management was going to use an epidermal pump for the pain but I have another problem that may have raise the pressure in my head so they used morphine. Morphine takes the pain away but also can make you nauseous.
As for the pain, it felt like my abs were used as a punching bag, but with the morphine who cares! I have to admit I do not exercise so my abs were flab. After surgery It actually feels like your wearing a tight girdle. You have to wear a compression belt to keep the swelling down and support the abs. I still were a support garment, but I found Flexee's slimming garments by Maidenform very comfortable.
I used Tylenol for pain at home. Most of the time I didn't even use that. Yes, there was pain, but it was tolerable.
I didn't do anything different prior to surgery, but I did bring some protein shakes to the hospital so I can up my protein intake. It was much easier to drink the shakes than eat hospital food.
I would say it took about 2 weeks until I felt better Other than the numbness in abdomen I hardly remember the trauma my body has been through.

thank you so much for your detailed experience...I really appreciate it..I have had surgery before.....my gallbladder removed, the gastric bypass, and 10 kids....3 were c-sections and one of them born natural childbirth (by accident) with no meds.

so i am familiar with abdominal surgery but some people were saying that TT pain is much worse so I am trying to wrap my head back around my birth experiences...but we all handle pain differently so we will see.

I will definitely log my experience here and share once it is done.

again thank you for your experience and I wish you speedy healing and a beautiful tummy!

I would love to know what type of insurance you have. I'm looking into a LBL and a possible breast reduction and lift. I have BCBS NJ Direct. I have so much back pain and I also suffer from rashes because of all of the hanging skin. UUUGGGHHH
