panniculectomy/TT
For those of you who had panni removed and/or full TT could you share how long were you in hospital....
did your surgeon ask you to stop meds or do a special diet days before surgery....
if anyone was taking prescriptions for depression/anxiety did you have to stop taking them before surgery....I got approved for surgery on short notice and my surgery is next Thursday!

Hey...good for you. How exciting!
I'm new to the process.
Went to my surgeon and set my date last week.
I will be having panni and TT in August.
Day surgery procedure for me...in and out!
They gave me a few recomendations...60-100 gr protein a day...which I already do.
Exercise.
I don't take any meds at all except for supplements so I can't speak to that part.
But Good Luck!!

I had a TT 4 weeks ago. My surgery was at 10:30 a.m. and I was home that day by 3:30 p.m. I was not told to eat a special diet but I did add more protein. I am on Zoloft and Xanax and I was not told to stop taking them. Good luck! but had to see doc because panic attacks came back...I take Xanax and Celexa and Ambien to sleep.never had insomnia before..
I have had surgery before..something about getting put to sleep and not having control just gets my nerves rattled!
I spent one night in the hospital for breast lift/reduction, brachioplasty, circumferential LBL with anchor cut. They asked me before surgery if I wanted to go home that day - I said no, I wanted one night with professional supervision!
I needed to stop vitamin A, and if I'd been taking it, vitamin E two weeks before surgery. They recommended I increase protein to between 125-150 g per day, and continue that for a month after surgery.
Can't help with the depression/anxiety meds - but congrats on the quick approval and quick date!

I was given a very long list of drugs, vitamins and even food items I had to stop 2 weeks before surgery, including garlic and ginger. They are all things that could interfer with clotting and healing post-op. Personally I would make absolutely certain that I wasn't taking any of these if my surgeon booked my surgery on such short notice. I'm sure if you google it you can find such a list if your Dr. didn't give it to you.
I had a two day post-op stay after my LBL/hernia repair and arm lift. I really need that first night but was glad to have the second day and felt completely ready to go home when I did.

I had a TT and BA 4 weeks ago, I stayed in the hospital one night.
I did workout daily up to my surgery and it helped to have strength in the lower body to help in getting up and down. I also upped my protein leading up to surgery.
Best wishes!
