9 years out from RNY; what to do first
I'm 9 years out from my RNY. I'm so far out from WLS, I can't remember my old name here. But it was the best thing I EVER did for myself. I got my life back.Moved to California. I finished my bachelor's degree; got my paralegal certificate. Changed careers. Traveled to South America and Europe. Had boyfriends. Moved back to Chicago. Now I have several young nieces; don't feel comfortable in a swimsuit or otherwise rough-housing around with them. I want to swim with them (so much); sled; be active in so many ways beyond the gym and beyond restrictions of clothing. At 48, I don't want to be the elderly aunt. I realize this tire on my hips is holding me back from so many things.I want to get this tire hanging off my hips removed plus my boobs lifted and maybe my arms done.
I've never been much of a doctor person. My doctor in Calfornia was good but was never understanding of why I felt I needed to go down the path of WLS. I don't regret it but I never connected with her because of my choice.
I think that I need to find a primary care doctor or internist in Chicago who is understanding of WLS and can point me in the right direction for a plastic surgeon. I have saved, I hope, the funds to get the tire removed, so I am leaning towards Dr. LoMonaco or Dr. Agha but I know there are so many hoops to jump through first.

You really don't need to have a connection with a primary care doctor at this point. Just start doing some Consultations with plastic surgeons. Sounds like the 2 you listed are very well recommended. Would be great places to start!!
Good luck and I can tell you when I had my LBL it was 5 years after my surgery and I had lost 160 pounds. It was the best thing EVER. I even had some complications with necrosis that lasted a long time, but I would do it all over again in a heart beat!!
Good Luck to you! You have already come so far!!
