tt/hernia repair 5 wk check up/ facelift prices

Had a check up with my PS yesterday.  He said it made his day to see me, because I was such a difficult case for him and I am doing so well.  I had a hernia  larger than a softball that distorted my stomach, causing my belly button to be pushed about 3-4 inches to the left....it looked like an elephant man stomach.  The repair was the most difficut one of his career and I think he's proud of himself. :)  I feel pretty good.  I have the numbness and twinge but mostly it feels good, and the scar is healing well. 

I asked him about my saggy neck and lines by my mouth.  He outlined the 'filler" methods, juviderm and also said there was a laser treatment for loose skin under my chin but it wouldn't entirely solve the problem but rather make it better.

He gave me a ball park figure for facelift of my neck and lower face....including his fee, surgery center fee and anethesiologist fee it would be about $9500. 

I'm wondering what others have paid in other places.  Wonder what Brazil would cost, Mexico....etc.  If anyone knows I'd appreciate you sharing.

Thanks Tom!  I think going to MX would be easier (less far and less $$) than to travel to Brazil.  But I know they do good work in Brazil, and from you I know that your doc is good too. :)

You are right.  Brazil has some great PS docs.  I had a consult with Dr. Kuster in DC last year and was impressed.   His cost was higher but what I didn't think I could handle was the travel home post op.   From Philly It was about 24 hours and 3-4 transfers.   To Mexico it was 6 hours total travel time ... 5 in the air 1hr layover in Houston.   Very doable. :)   Good luck.

thanks...what I need help with most right now is saving my pennies!  My daughter is going to college in the fall so I don't know how we are going to swing it or when.  But I'm just trying to get an idea of how much I'll have to save. 

I hear ya!    FYI I actually got my quote from Dr. S in April of 2009 and didn't go until Jan 2011.  He honored his price quote to me from 2009.   I love that guy!
