Phew, that does sounds rough!!! But it sounds like you are looking amazing!!! If you need motivation to get out of bed, I would head for the mirror!

Hang in there!!!

Hi NormaBee,

Alas, looking in the mirror now -- not such a good idea!  Unless I have clothes on, that is.  Then I *do* look amazing!!!

Oh my goodness-you have really been through the mill, haven't you!  You go right ahead and vent-you have earned it. Do your best to think positive thoughts-they will help you heal.  I'll be praying for you.

Thank you, Laura, both for acknowledging the suffering I'm experiencing and for wishing me such positive thoughts and energy.  You are very sweet and kind and I so appreciate it!

I feel ya!     My LBL was healing awesome ... feeling great ... then 3 weeks post op my hip opened up in my sleep.     It's not infected and is closing up nicely so far.  Kinda freaky to deal with in the beginning though.   But the healing is slow but steady.   I was ready to start dealing with scar treatments NOT more wound care :(

Then this spot on my lower back that was "leaking" a little fluid doesn't seem to be progressing.  It has gotten larger in size ... not really an opening but it is not healing great.   Doc says to give it some more time as long as it's not infected.   (Don't mind a bunch of the redness around the lbl line and spots above.  It's a psorisis break out since I had to go off my meds for surgery and have been since because of the issues because the meds lower your immune system so my ability to heal at my best.

Hang in there!   I'm hoping things turn around for you soon.   Does your hip / back look anything like mine?

I see you went to Mexcio for your surgery. How are you handeling care now?  My LBL had necrosis on the back pretty bad, they tried to sew it shut but the fluid kept building up and they had to keep it open and then I also got infection.  I was back and forth at the doctors every other day for a few weeks.

How are handeling aftercare with your Dr being in Mexico? That would be my biggest fear!

With most openings after plastics there is not much you can do to them but keep them clean and infection free ... giving them the best invironment and assistance to heal from the inside out.   My surgeon and I are in email several times a week.  He looks me up if I miss a few days :)   I send pictures and access the wounds for infection.    My PCP is on board with me though should I need something ... this was discussed prior to my going to mexico.    Should I need more intense wound help specialist my insurance will cover it.
