Hi

I had gastric bypass surgery done in 2004 and for the last 6+ years have religiously worked out , played tennis etc but never had any luck getting rid of all the excess skin. I posted something on this site that I was desperate to find an affordable way to get this removed surgically and someone here on Obesity Help steered me to Mass General Hospital in Boston.

Now it's my turn to pay it forward _

If you are in the same situation as I was ( notice i said was ) I can't recommend Dr Jason Cooper of Mass General's Dept of Plastic Surgery highly enough. In Dec Dr Cooper removed all the skin and he couldn't have been more caring and professional. I look and feel great and that skin is a thing of the past. yesterday I met someone for the first time who also had gastric bypass and they couldn't believe I ever had a weight problem. My stomach is flat and I feel awesome.

If you are looking for a Dr to help you please contact Dr Cooper he is awesome

If you have any questions let me know

Hi

I'm not familiar with Dr Austin

I went thru a program that Mass Gen'l has with Harvard Medical School where the operation is done by a Mass Gen'l Resident ( Harvard Medical School ) and a Mass Gen'l Plastic Surgeon. The two Dr's I had were awesome the resident was Dr Hank Kutz ( he's the chief resident  which means top of his class ) and Dr Jason Cooper of Mass Gen'l's Platic Surgery group. All I can say is that Hank and Jason were great to me - very caring and professional. As far as costs I can tell you it was less then 1/2 of what Beth Isreal wanted ( where I had my gastric bypass done) . I would contact Dr Cooper first to see if you can get in the program and they will give you the cost ( I spent less then $6k to get the excess skin removed from my stomach ). You can reach Dr Cooper at 978-882-6893. Let him know that Bob D referred you and that you are interested in the Resident Program.

I am so lucky I met these 2 great doctors

Good luck
Bob

What kind of "affordable" are we talking about here?    Ball park ranges really help people doing research.
