Lower Body Lift and sitting.. and lying down..?
I sat with a pillow behind my back. I sat in the recliner at the hotel 1 time. Most of the time I was in the computer chair. At home it's the same. I came home at 2 weeks post op and slept in my waterbed the first night. I mostly slept on my bac****il I was 3 weeks out, then started sleeping on my side. My LBL incision doesn't hurt. It's all still numb. I'm very careful moving around in bed though.

I never had an issues laying down in fact I woke up laying flat on my back and I don't even remember not being able to stand up straight but I'm also guessing the 4mg of Dilauded I was taking every 3-4 hrs helped a lot lol... but I also worked out a lot before surgery and my surgeon said my abs where clean and tight all on there own he didn't have to do a thing to them so maybe it depends on if they tighten your ab muscles? Good Luck and the healing goes by so fast before you know it, it will all be behind you. Aside from having the RNY this was the best thing that I have ever done for myself I finally feel normal, your going to love the results!
I was was in a hospital bed for the first week ... 2 operations 4 days apart so I was there inbetween and a few days after the second. After that I was at a hotel for another week and rarely used the recliner. At that point I was more comfortable sitting in a regular upright chair or in bed with lots of pillows.
I'm thinking if I came right home after the LBL like most people do in the US ... I'd probably want the recliner to help you rest better.
I bought a recliner to have when I came home (I HATE RECLINERS but gave in) and got it at Sam's Club for 300.00 or so. If you don't want to put out much money I'd check craigslist or thrift stores. I'd steam clean it and cover it all up with my own clean sheets and use it ... then tra**** when I was done with it.
I'm wishing I did that as I didn't need mine and now I have a brand new recliner ;(

I got a nice memory FOAM pad before my first plastic surgeyr which was LBL. I put pillows behind it and it proped it up and make it like a Hospital Bed. It made it easier to get in and out of the bed and was VERY comfortable to sleep like that. I got it Twin size so my husband would not be bothered.
I do did also however live in my recliner!!
GOOD LUCK!
