Liboabdominoplasty
Has anyone had this done?
I'd love to hear from someone who has done this and also curious if the cost is higher or lower than the normal TT.
This is where I heard about it:

I've not ... but I'd say it just sounds like this doc is "trademarking" a name for a tummy tuck with lots of lipo done under local instead of general.
My plastics were all done under local in Monterrey Mexico and I had a great experience with it. US Doctors will say he is doing this because most likely the facility is not certified to do general etc. etc.
Just do your full research before making any decisions whi*****ludes a lot more then just asking here :)

Thanks... been doing a lot of resarch and the BBB report looks promising -- no complaints in the last 36 months at least. Have several different appointments with various places so we'll see!

I am in the process of interviewing surgeons for my tummy tuck & bl/ba. I have read the link that you provided and I have to say that I know of a lot of people who have had surgery by local anasthesia and been ok, but the idea of being able to eat, drink & walk around freaks me out a bit. The surgery sounds a bit too good to be true. Be careful and educate yourself! Good Luck on your journey!
Dear MissMaryMac. I have performed many "Lipoabdominoplasty" procedures. This procedure is, essentially, a hybrid operation that combines the best elements of the classic tummy tuck and liposuction procedures. This is best suited for those patients who have a thick fatty upper abdomen. This is because the classic tummy tuck, wherein we widely undermine (release) the entire abdominal skin layer from the underlying abdominal wall (muscle layer), divides all of the blood vessels that perforate this layer to provide blood flow to the skin layer. That is why we don't liposuction the skin & subcutaneous fat layer there. We would be injuring the only blood vessels left to keep those tissues alive. In the Lipoabdominoplasty, we first perform the needed liposuction to the entire abdomen. Then, we undermine widely below the umbilicus. Undermining ABOVE the umbilicus is done only a few centimeters lateral to the midline; just enough to place the tightening sutures that narrow the waist. Then we complete the operation in similar manner to the classic abdominoplasty. In properly selected patients, Lipoabdominoplasty is an effective and outstanding procedure. We do charge more for this operation than for classic tummy tuck because it takes more work. I hope that my answer helps. Good luck!

I, like many other plastic surgeons, will perform lipo as needed and where needed on the abdomen, hips, and waist to create the desired result.
Is lipoabdominoplasty (or as I call it 'abdominoplasty with lipo") for you ? Depends on your body type, fat distrubution, amount of excess skin, and your goals.
Don't select a procedure, rather select a surgeon who you feel is attentive to your problem areas and goals.
