What do you think about lipo now, surgery later?
What do you all think of that? I think it's exciting 'cause I will get practically instant results in the two areas of my biggest problem. I know I'll have loose skin, but I have that anyway and isn't that' what shapewear was invented for?
Opinions, please!
I also had a consult with the doctor that did my tummy tuck and he told me I had to lose 10lbs, and he would lipo the inner/outer thighs) then after a few months, he would do the thigh lift. He said that I carry the remaining weight in my thighs (I am 145lbs, should be 130lbs). At first I was kinda bothered thinking he was tring to get more money outa me BUT after lots of research, I have discovered that he was correct and I would have better results with the lift later. I am also excited that those fat cells won't ever come back, so I guess I will just have to pay for two more rounds of plastics.
Hope that helped.

It is hard (for me anyway) to predict where and how fast a patient is going to lose from any given body area 6 mos down the line. I dont like that unpredictability.
I also am not so interested in the scale, but want to see you at a healthly balance with diet, excercise, and job/lifestyle/home. When those things are in harmony, I see that weight stabilizes and patients are ready for surgery. Do you feel you're there ?
Operating on a person who is planning on losing, gaining, or who may be bouncing around more than 5 or 8lbs a month just adds too much uncertainty IMO.
Why undergo a separate surgery, exposure to anesthesia, and downtime/recovery when a little more time would allow you to have a single and combined surgery ? Lipo also creates scarring that can make the lift later on in that same area more challenging and unpredictable. Ultrasonic lipo was designed specifically to deal with the tough scar tissue found in previosuly lipo'd areas...this is a real issue.
I'm going to share with you an unpleasant and true conversation I overheard once between two surgeons regarding patients seeking liposuction:
"That's a dangerous kind of patient"
"Why?"
"Because somebody else might operate on them first"
Point is, I see too many patients less than a year out from WL surgery who are still learning to use their weight loss tool and may have a bit further to go, being advised to undergo surgery too soon.
I approach this from a simple patient safety standpoint so please don't infer any criticism towards you or any of your doctors.

GOOD ADVICE ...i learned the hard way and many $$$$ later ...I was told though that lipo would probably fix my problem 90 % certian.. What a joke... I now need the butt lift ...
So now since we have only 2 PS in the area , ( not pleased 100 with either) I am trapped unless I travel which creates even more $$$ ...I sure have traveled in the first place ..
Thanks for all your input on this board too ....very helpful ..
