Fleur-De-Lis VS. Regular TT?

Please excuse my ignorance as I am just starting to research plastics. I know the difference between the two but I am unsure as to why some one would "need" a Fleur-DE-lis as opposed to just a regular TT?

I'm am fairly early post op but already KNOW I will need plastics. I'm also looking for a good surgeon in Michigan that participates with BCBS of Mich. Anyone have any recommendations and care to share results with me?

Thanks everyone!

A Fleur-DE-lis ... or vertical resection is used to bring in the waist more.   It gives gives a more curvy appearance as well as help people who have more side skin/fat.

I've been feeling great really.   Still can't get over all this work I had done with so little pain.   I'm sure I'm the exception though as many people say it's so bad!

Mine was the Fleur-de-lis also sometimes referred to an anchor cut. I had the excess skin on my sides as well as above my belly button. It allowed my surgeon to give me the best results by doing both incisions.

Thank you. Not everyone needs the vertical incision. Your plastic surgeon should be able to look at your extra skin and make the proper recommendation.

In my 3 consults no one recommended an anchor for me, like Renee said the surgeon will be able to tell ya!

I've lost 200 pounds and have TONS of excess skin, especially around the middle.  The anchor cut is the only way to get rid of all of it for me.  Also, I've heard too many people who did not get it done that they still have somewhat of a "muffin-top" afterwards.  I'm not going to risk that.  Scars don't bother me.  The excess skin does!!
