LBL post-op - compression garment question

Hi all!

I'm 1 week, 2 days post-op from my LBL & BL.  My doctor says I am looking great and that after he removes my last drain tomorrow, I can switch from the compression binder (whcih was cut down from 4 to 3 panels in height) to a support garment like spanx or flexees or whatever.  I hate the binder because I am short-waisted and it rides up right under my breasts (where the BL incisions are still healing too).  My question is this:  do I need to buy a high-waisted style that comes up to my ribcage, or can I get an underwear style that covers my scar area, but ends at or below the belly button?

TIA for any advice based on your experiences!

Mine wanted something that came up above the waist even before we decided to do the anchor cut because they didn't want a tight waistband just above the scarring. However - if you're short waisted enough, you may be able to have the waistband up closer to the bottom of your ribs, which might be ok. Or go ahead and get the standard high waist that goes up to the bra line, but leave it an inch or so down. Or go for the long one, but keep a cotton cami on under it to "pad" the bra line.

Try on several different brands to see what you can make work.

My Dr. wanted me to have something high wasted that also went down my thighs, I think it was to contain any extra swelling but that is only my guess.. I am a month post op from LBL but had a blood clot so went back to or on the 17th and had the clot removed so I am two and a half weeks out from that... and still have to wear a support garment for a few more weeks.

Good luck!

I have a 3/4 length sleeve/bra, and then the body is thigh to under the breasts, with eyehooks and zippers on both sides.  I'm short waisted and this brand fits really nice.  The brand is Veronique.  I put the bra on first, the a sleeveless ribbed top, then my body garment.  It stops the body garment from rubbing against my skin.
